The Kennedy Space Center will unveil four immersive live-game attractions in February.
Collectively called Cosmic Quest, the games will combine storytelling, technology, math and science to engage children as well as adults, said Kennedy Space Center spokeswoman Andrea Farmer.
In NASA’s Next Rocket Launch Adventure, “trainees” will assemble a launch team and then feel vibrations and steam as the rocket lifts off the pad.
At Mars Colony Adventures, participants will build either a research exploration base or a permanent colony.
At Asteroid Capture, located within the center’s IMAX Theater, game players will command a spacecraft in order to redirect an asteroid.
Lastly, at the International Space Station Adventure, located within Space Shuttle Atlantis, Cosmic Quest participants will perform life science experiments and learn about what astronauts are currently doing on the space station.
Entry to the Kennedy Space Station is $50 for adults and $40 for children ages 3 to 11. Cosmic Quest participants will pay an additional $24.95. The center will announce the opening date of the attractions shortly.
